Through recommendations from the Canadian Council of Cancer Registries (CCCR) and in collaboration with the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, Statistics Canada, provincial/territorial cancer registries (PTCRs) and international expert organizations, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has coordinated and supported a team of provincial/territorial-based Collaborative Stage (CS) trainers to develop Canadian-based CS training modules, deliver CS training both nationally and within their regions and act as a national and regional CS experts. PHAC and the CCCR are currently working with their partners to finalize a plan for assisting in the training of provincial/territorial cancer registrars on CSv2. A national CSv2 training session on four key sites (breast, lung, colorectal, prostate) is scheduled for March 2010 with further national and/or regional training, based on provincial/territorial needs, to be confirmed soon.
