Collaborative Staging

Downloading the XML version of Collaborative Staging tables

The tables of the Collaborative Staging system-- the ones that you can see on this website-- begin as files of Extensible Markup Language. This is a very flexible format that allows us to produce the same information in several different forms. Most updates to Collaborative Staging result in modifications to the XML files.

XML files can be understood by humans, but they do not make very agreeable reading material. They are meant to be processed by computers. That is why the XML available here is converted to HTML for display and browsing on this website. Unless you are planning to write computer programs that use the XML files, you may not need to download this collection of files.

Although these XML files are the foundation-- "the originals"-- of Collaborative Staging, the more readable HTML files are always refreshed whenever a change to Collaborative Staging is published. The XML files are also used to generate the internal C language tables that are part of the Collaborative Staging algorithm distributed at this website.

The zip file contains one XML file for each schema, three folders of XML fragments that are shared among schemas, an XML Data Type Definition file, and a General schema file (not really a schema) that collects some of the miscellaneous tables of the system.
